Another "newbie"

Hallo all. New to a forum, choice: Guitar Forum SA. Been learning to play (?) for just over 40 years, my first plywood mini clunker is hanging on my third guitar's stand. I have a few lekker guitars (for me... No money for expensive, well, even "mid range" equipment. Still need a nice Strat and a small (5 Watt) valve amp. I resisted all impulses to buy into violin and bass. Six strings only here. Mix of steel string acoustic, electric and nylon. Music? Will let you know when I find my "voice". Cannot really sing. Never gigged, it's too much work, had a life to live and a job to do. Would like to be able to play guitar, though. Someday.

There are awesome competitions where original work is encouraged and sometimes the moderator even dangles a nice orange carrot in the form of a sponsored prize. Wink wink.

+1 What Stoffeltoo said about the competition. There's still time to do it... And with the sponsored carrot... What's that you said about a 5w valve amp you need? makes 2 of us *wink wink* ?

Meron - It is indeed a guitar model - 1970's vintage. Very nice. Only one I've ever seen. Did see a similar bass on stage around the late 70's early 80's.

[/quote] I've seen one guitar - was on sale up in Jhb about a year ago - I tried to get it down to Cpt, but someone beat me to it :) It would have made a nice set with the modulator bass I've got - great thing about shergold, they have the [i]day [/i]of manufacture (17th March 1977)! This thing has tone for days, but it be a tad tricky to play - with a pick and some overdrive, it's a beast. There's even a few extra modules - I reckon the recording one is the one to have (although the quad stereo one intrigues me). Now just to put them together, someone ripped into these baaaaddd.
