1973 Masara Khono - Where is it now?
ChrisH
Some of you may have seen my first posting in the Introduction thread.
I collected the Khono in Japan in 1973 and loved this guitar so much. After I became deaf I sold the guitar in the early 80' s to a girl studying music at the Witwatersrand University. I cannot remember her name.
I am hoping that someone out there knows this girl or know this guitar.
This is such a special guitar that I doubt it will just dissapear.
I am hoping that this guitar is still in South Africa and I just want to play it once more. Please.

Hi ChrisH
I did a bit of reading on the Masara Khono guitars. YoYoh! that must have been a gem. I wish you luck with the search. Hopefully your first love will find its way back.
Cheers
Squonk
Look like some seriously hectic guitars from Masara Khono
Still going even though the real Masara Khono died in 1998

Thanks Aquonk for the links.
Yes I am under no illusion that if I find this guitar, I will not be in a position buy it. I have often kicked myself for virtually giving that guitar away. I was a bit in an emotional state trying to cope with life etc.
At the time I was working on my Grade 8 and I was just playing for myself. I had great job as a pilot too.
If I remember correctly Patrick Burke also had a Khono, in fact we had the only 2 Khono's in Africa at that time.
