Can I get clarification on the compo elements?
Does this mean that a guitar should be taken through digital modulation or that a digital MIDI track(s) with guitar can be entered?
I wouldn't over think this one - Trust me, a guitar plugged into a Kaos pad won't a dance song make ?
I'm thinking - Treat it as a opportunity to write a drums-driven track - it's about the only tip I can offer on this challenge.
Composing dance tracks usually start with a drum track - BPM, then the kick drum, snare drum and hihat patterns. I'd had success in the past (using guitar rig) using a step sequencer to control parameters (volume + gain = gating) rhythmically to fit into the track - got some verrrryy interesting sounds.

The latter could work as not everyone has access to Kaos Pad or an Ibby with KP.
I like the challenge idea though but let's make it fair to give more entrants a chance
+1
Yeah, its a great idea but awfully marginalized. I thought Metal would be jammed packed? I like Dance, I honestly think its a challenge in itself, traditional or electronic? Isn't dance one of the main reasons for song creation in the first place?
I reckon the turnout for metal was good, considering that (historically) Dec is usually a poor time for challenges.
I'd agree that the idea may not appeal to a wide audience - but I'm happy to try, there has to be some upside to 'winning' the challenges - so that's why I'm happy to run with the idea and give it a bash.
I'm thinking something along the lines of :
The Great GFSA Dance Off
Create a track that shakes our booty. Electronica (House, Techno, Trance, etc...) or Traditional (Irish, Flamenco, etc...), let your creativity flow - perhaps it's a fusion of metal and techno, funk and house or a straight up trance tune with a taste of flamenco.
Max 6 tracks (including drums and vocals/samples)
Max 2 minutes
And we'll have -at least- 4 weeks.
I'd suggest collaboration(s)) on this one - especially if you know someone who can make beats.
