Bothners too - though they'll possibly scale down a few stores.
As for the rest...that'll be interesting. Imho, there's too many stores, yet not enough competition. Nothing makes me want to go to a specific retail store - pricing is wacky, staff usually beholden to earning commission so I have little confidence in their advice (even when it's one of my mates!) and range is limited to what they feel they can sell.
And when you buy something new, you'll see that your R15k (RRP) MIM Fender strat appear on a Takealot sale at R8k sooner than later.
*sigh*
As for to many stores and not enough competition. I wouldn't mind opening a small store with products nobody else sells. There is such a vast amount of product available oversees that is as good if not better than the brand names everybody ells purchases. It might be more expensive but it also comes with much better quality. As I, unlike other stores having to report to shareholders, do not have to make a huge a mount of profit to have a decent living, this should be possible. somehow I doubt that the local people do not think the same and keep on buying brand names.
