any old string lying around?

howdy all. a friend of mine is starting an art project and is looking for as many old strings (in whatever condition, and however long) as she can get. i'm assuming this would extend to bass strings as well - and 7/8/10/12-stringed instrument strings would be no exception either; in fact - the more, the merrier. personally, i don't hold on to my second-handers for terribly long, so i'm sure this is a long shot at best.

another problem is, we're all scattered all over the place, ain't we? if anyone can suggest how to get these restringing remnants to one central collection venue, i'd be most grateful.

i've considered approaching music shops with set-up setups - anyone think it's worthwhile? my pal and i are located (work-wise at least) in jhb's northern subs.

The junkies have a box with old strings for recycling (or upcycling), I'll check if Graham has any specific plans for them.

JD customs and the music store up there likely do the same? Be nice, take some chocolate chip cookies (we are all boys after all) and I reckon they'll sort ya out.\

whoops, this one must've slipped under the radar, sorry. my friendess has it in her head to sculpt/paint/construct something noir, and i think guitar/bass/stringed instrument strings fit the bill.

i'll hit the trail armed with oreos and see what happens. cheers mate
