I came across an ad for an alder strat body with a set of jackson pickups and a neck for 600 bucks. So I offered the dude 800 if i could nab it today and got the best deal ever (well in my opinion anyway). He threw in a bunch of other stuff so for a total cost of R1000 I now have the following: 2 Jackson single coil pups 1 Jackson Humbucker pup 1 Ibanez V7 Humbucker pup 1 nameless sc pup 1 white strat scratchplate (fully wired with nameless pups) 1 black strat scratchplate 1 alder wood strat shape body 1 super strat shape body (unknown wood) 1 strat style bridge 1 strat shaped neck (unsure of the maker but its in good nick) 2 Mogami amphenol cables 1 Quiklok cable The super strat body has a terrible split as you can see in the photo. Can I fix it with glue perhaps? Gonna test the pups with a multimeter to see if they're still good. Can't wait to get strated.

The trouble with that split is that by the time you have glued it back, the pieces will be different size in more than one place. Spend no time and less money on this body unless you are willing to accept seeing the glue line.

Yeah I thought that if it's unfixable I'll juts glue it and use it as a practice body for painting on. Maybe make a display piece out of it.

The cup is half full ( as opposed to the half empty mood above) if you're a reasonably adept DIYer. I reckon that body is easily fixable.
Good preparation. Creativity to come up with two or three tiny DIY cotters of some sort to encourage the pieces to stay in position. Decent adhesive. And, most importantly, PRESSURE applied to it till full cure.
Then sort out cosmetics and Bob's your uncle.

Well that's awesome news. The pastor at the church my grandfather works at does woodwork as a hobby so maybe he can repair it for me.

Otherwise doing it myself with the cotters is easy enough. Thanks for the advice!
