How many instruments do you have?

Let's say stringed instruments only - so think guitar like, fretted or fretless.

Aside from the obvious (guitar/bass), Banjo's, Mandolin's, Resonators, Basses, Ukelele's, etc.. also qualify.

A Keytar doesn't ;)

I have the Holy Trinity. Acoustic 6 string, electric 6 String, and 4 string bass. I do have half a 5 string bass however, but won't count her until I get her a neck ☹.

It's probably one or two too many on the skinny string side, but every time I try to figure out which ones to let go, I end up falling in love with them again

the 0.5 is my project fretless bass- all components are under one roof, but I still need to cut the body and assemble.

As for other instruments (tin whistles,flutes,ocarinas,keyboard)- probably best if we don't start counting those

I think there's a sneaky way to expand one's collection...start building them. I think luthier-ing is a step on the long road to curing G.A.S...

Of my 12-ish instruments, only 6 are daily players - the rest are either gifts in waiting (x2 for my niece&nephew), playable projects awaiting final tweak or two (x2) or sentimentally collected (x2). So, I guess in reality, I can say 8-ish (3xbasses. 2 acoustic, 3 electric)

Four shop bought 3 x 6 stringers 1x bass
Home Made - these give the most pleasure to play - all are solid bodies
2 x bass 1 x 12 string 15 six stringers

I actually have one but I don't count it as A) My little brother has it (I have no space at home for it) and B) It plays like an old shopping trolley steers.

At least 8 peeps (27%) have > 10...I'm kinda astounded, kinda jealous and rather relieved that I'm not alone! Grin, it's not like any of us have a problem...

I know two fellows in Cape Town with collections > 50! And the vast majority of their collections are playable. Rickenbackers, vintage Eko's, Fenders, Gibson's and some stuff I ain't ever heard of - it's ridiculous - in the best possible way ?

If we count other instruments then add a keyboard, jaw harp and a weird harmonica that I have yet to touch. Looking at getting electric drums soon.
