Been wanting to get on stage and sing in front of people for ages now. After a year of coaching I'm finally gonna get to do it tomorrow. Nervous as hell but looking forward to it.
Good luck!!
My recent musical challenge was to write and record a song for my 5th wedding anniversary. I wrote most of the lyrics a few years back and stuck it into a folder on my google drive called "song ideas".
Then I got the brainwave to complete it in time for my 5th wedding anniversary... it was about 2 weeks away at that time. BUT then as luck would have it, the wheels came off at work. This resulted in added pressure culminating with me applying for a retrieving a voluntary rentrenchment package and starting to work for myself full time.
4 days before the anniversary (was a Tuesday night) I recorded the guitars and bass... I monitor with headphones so the wife didn't know what I was up to. Then two days later I made up some story to get the wife out of the house for like an hour... I recorded the vocals and then the day after I mixed it and retracked some instrument parts.
So... with much effort I finally completed and recorded my first full song. ? ? ?
My current challenge is to write a song "in the style of" and try match the style of an artist. This is tough for me because I tend to throw all my influences into everything I do.
