It's a 1995 LP Studio that I bought second hand which started off as a nightmare purchase, turned something good and something me ?

Have you put binding on that thing?
This does sound like an interesting story. Please fill us in.

I have, on one occasion seen another LP studio that someone had put binding in, but the end result did not look nearly as nice as yours.

faux binding... like on PRS.
In other words, the binding area was taped off to not get paint.
