Is the rumour true?

doc-phil

A friend of mine recently told me that Epiphone are no longer exporting to SA, can anybody verify this?

I hope its not true, I'll be extremely bleak! ☹

I've heard an incredible number of different stories about why that is so. Every salesman in every shop will give you his version. Truth is that we can't get it. The why we'll never really know. Corporate bullshit as Alan puts it.

Fraid so Doc....so if you can find one now, get it. It's Gibson who is the kingpin behind this....

Jip, the Ephiphone guitars are not being imported to SA anymore.

When I purchased a epiphone from a fellow GFSA member I first checked with most of the CPT dealers and everyone said the same story: no more epiphone's for sale.
So yes, if you can find one, buy it!

This makes me so angry!! >☹ I love epiphone...

I suppose the upside is that the epiphone i do own just shot up in value ?

Lieutenat-J

I heard the same story aswell, but the story also seems to chop and change all the time, i've imported mine down from korea at the moment it's on the high seas ?

thats so true, the other day i went to guitar centre in table view, they still have 2 epiphone les pauls, one with a sunburst and a zakk wylde one with a maple fretboard.

I was amazed to see the price on a guitar that used to be about R5000!!!!

Explorerlover

I should've kept my Les Paul Special, but alas, I sold it to a guy that loves the whole relic thing....needless to say he got overly happy with a Black & Dekker mouse and the rest is history...It was a Transparent blue one but now looks like a blue/wood camo finish. ☹

Eish, i never was one for camo finishes on guitars...

My epiphone has been the most amazing guitar ever, considering I only paid about +-R1300 for it. I was considering getting another epiphone but now with the current turn of events i suppose i won't be able to cos i'd be hesitant to get it shipped here from overseas myself.

Just saw a Goldtop, described to be in perfect nick, on Gumtree for R 4 K

I had the oppertunity to buy an awesome black Epiphone LP for R2000. I loved the sound and look, but instead bought a crappy Cort..

I suck!!
