Newbie from Belgium

Hi guys,

I moved to Cape Town in December 2014 and I love it here.
I play mostly acoustics, I love playing around with complicated rhythms and fingerpicking. It keeps me busy!

I'm a singer songwriter with many different influences so I never know how to describe my style. Just laid back is the best description I can think of...

I have 3 guitars but 2 of them are left behind in Belgium, just hanging on the wall in my parents' bedroom. Poor babies :'(
My favourite guitar has been stolen from me 2 weeks ago so I'm currently looking out for it (Taylor 214CE-G) and trying to budget a new guitar in the meantime. Any tips are welcome.

Hi Julie,

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about the Taylor. I know how it feels to be without strings, even for a short period. I have an old Yamaha APX-6 that I can lend to you until you can get yourself sorted with another guitar. It doesn't have a case. I read you live in Table View, I am in Westbeach, a neighboring suburb. This is what it looks like.

Hey Greg,

That is the sweetest thing! Thank you so kindly for that offer. I'm currently using a guitar from my previous landlord. She has a guesthouse and a "guesthouse guitar" that I'm currently using until high season kicks in. So I'm picking those strings for now, I also have my ukulele still ?

Some nice songs there, suppose you use backing tracks in Cape Town, wouldn't mind playing some of these with you next when you come up to JHB. Not that we going to get any gigs I think, pity,... but one never knows

Not sure why babbalute reckons you wouldn't. The Stone Jets have toured twice up country recently and had a blast both times.

Am sure in CT you will get gigs, up here in JHB way more difficult with own material, people just want the same old stuff they can party on. But your music is very good hope you didnt misunderstood me.
