Want to buy new guitar

Good day i have about 17k for a new acoustic guitar

want to know what you guys think was looking at these guitars

Faith venus
Entry level taylor

what do you guys think?

I have the Faith Venus for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. It has seriously taken number one spot over my Tokai. Build quality is exceptional, perfectly setup, but mostly, it sounds amazing. I highly recommend it

Tough call. My money would go towards Japanese Takamine Pro Series, or an older EF/TNV/SUPERNATURAL/LTD series secondhand. But those faiths do look nice! Very nice, ideally you'd have to try them for yourself?

I had a similar debate when I was looking for a Les Paul type guitar, do you go for a lower spec brand name, like the low spec Taylor/Martin, or a very expensive brand name like the Takemine Pro/Martin/Taylor, or a very high spec option, lesser brand at the lower end Taylor pricing.

I looked at Gibson Les Paul, Standard and Custom, Ephiphone, much lower price and build quality, a myriad of LP clones like Cort, PRS LP style guitars, even self build kits and and I settled in the Tokai, superb build quality, Made in Japan at a 1/4 of the Gibson LP price.

I suppose what it comes down to is your main driver, is it owning the brand, price, play-ability, investment return

Personally, I chose the best sounding/feeling/playable guitar for my budget. It helped that both the Faith and the Tokai are stunningly beautiful guitars.

If you're look second-hand, see if you can pick up a good Taylor, Larrivee, Tak or what-have-you. At the end of the day, you don't want to compromise on the guitar just because of what it says on the headstock, yeah? So play as many as you can. After all, you're the one with the cash to drop - don't drop it on the wrong instrument.

If you're going brand new, make sure a) you're happy with your instrument, b) you're buying the right guitar for your style of playing and c) you're not going to lose that 'showroom' value immediately.

I got advised on the forum +- 5 years ago to give Breedlove a try

I bought one second hand for R7000, it was as good as new, and it is unbelievable.

It sound better than my friend taylor!

I think you should forget about a specific brand. Go to a decent music store and start testing them. Then once you find a guitar which sound you like and it is within your budget buy it.

+1, with one caveat. Play guitars that are both above and below your budget. You could find a huge bargain, and have money left over for other toys, or you could find yourself something fantastic that is ab-so-freaking-lootly worth the extra cash.

And remember; the ticket price is probably not the cash price, especially if you can see the guitar has been in the store for a while (older strings, a little dust, etc - although in a decent music store, you shouldn't find either of these problems at your budget level). But bargain with the salesman.

i really appreciate all your help a lot
my problem is i can't go to a music shop to play all these guitars so buy over a phone.
I took the faith guitar , got a really good deal on the faith.
I always wanted to buy a Taylor or a martin but their prices on this stage is a bit much and the things that i heard about the entry level ones was not good.
will show you in 3 days when my guitar comes?

i do but its a very small shop so i dont stock any guitars of 13k on this stage its still starting out and as all you guys know music equipment is not the cheapest thing so to stock everything is alot off money but this guitar was for myself

Well, good luck. I hope you'll be very happy with your choice. At the very least you have one other personal recommendation to go on (or one other person to blame if it all goes down the tubes).
