First thing’s first, a HUGE thanks for the votes in the last challenge!
I've been tinkering with my new Prodipe TT1 Pro Lanen Microphone which was nicely packed and arrived safely from the very generous folks at THE GEAR JUNKIE
http://www.thegearjunkie.co.za.
From the spec sheet, the Prodipe is an affordable professional microphone with a frequency response of 50 Hz to 15,000 Hz similar to the Shure SM57. From my own personal experience, it’s a worthy contender. Actually, more than worthy! It really delivers a fuller and smoother lower-mid range response. Quite remarkable when you consider the cost. Blind folded to my “brand name” bias I could quite easily prefer it? Even vocals sounds bit brighter and crisp. So far I could only test it on a guitar cab and for vocals, hopefully I’ll get to hear it cover some percussion down the line, I’d imagine it will work a treat.
Whilst the stand-clip and a carrying pouch are a little on the cheapish side, I cannot say that for the actual Microphone itself. It looks, feels and sounds perfectly “high end” and professional. It has a very cool and comfortable matte grip and certainly seems rugged enough to withstand the perils of gigging. Time will tell...
This is an incredibly impressive dynamic microphone and at 3rd of the price of similar microphones, it's an excellent option for those on a budget. I am very fortunate to add one to my sound kit.
Next time you mulling around a music shop, check one of these out yourself!
