Sunday the 8th MARCH from 12-30 pm to 3 pm Zahava’s Garden Restaurant, Boutique & Gallery will be hosting
“World/Jazz Acoustic Instrumental Solo Guitarist” Keira WitherKay who will perform her show “10 fingers, 6 strings, 1 guitar” (and yes I call my thumbs fingers too) as a lunch time concert.
This is a showcase of Keira’s original world music compositions, all influenced by her world travels and have strong influences of (Flamenco/Cuban/Indian/Moroccan/African/Middle Eastern/Classical/Latin American/ Celtic / Jazz/ Ragtime) all performed in her unique style of playing up to 4 parts simultaneously on one guitar (bass lines/chords/melody or soloing and percussion) and done with NO ELECTRONIC LOOPS OR BACK TRACKS.
All Keira’s compositions are instrumental, since Instrumental music is truly universal, and Keira will be performing this show worldwide to audiences who speak many languages and not need to understand the language of the lyrics to enjoy the music to it’s fullest.
The setting for the performance is the gorgeous garden restaurant Zahava’s (47 Grant Avenue Norwood, Jhb). This restaurant has a courtyard where diners sit in the shade of ancient trees and enjoy the exquisite cuisine offered by Zahava’s. The restaurant is in the centre of Norwood, but the courtyard ambience and leafy canopy create an enchanted country setting.
Being a lunch performance, meals will be on offer
This outstanding restaurant offers tantalizing exotic cuisine, which includes Eastern European traditional Jewish, Middle Eastern & Moroccan Dishes. There is a big selection of Vegetarian dishes. House specialties include: Hot beef on rye, Cheese blintzes, Gefilte fish, Moroccan lamb Tagine and Moroccan lamb soup. The owner Zahava is ever present to offer her guests personal attention.
