Check out the "Electronic Parts" section here : http://www.guitarforum.co.za/setup-mods-and-repair/alan's-guitar-effect-and-amp-building-link-list/

Mantech, Yebo and RS electronics. Terryd bring in the cheaper Alpha pots, although I'm not sure if they have stock again. Takealot and most decent music stores stock DiMarzio branded pots (Cts pots AFAIK) and you should also find Mighty Mite parts at music stores.

? Thank you guys! I know Mantec but don't they have a min order thing? Do you know if I can buy over the counter... if not I will phone. Here's the thing... I'm slowly buying stock and building a couple of Cigar Box Guitars.
I'm buying up second hand pickups and ordered some wire from the U.K. I want to wind and build my own pickups eventually but for now.. I take what I can get.

The reason for wanting to do my own pickups is that Cigar Box Guitars have 4 or 3 strings and it ads to the build.
Thank you for your replies, it is well appreciated.
So far I'm getting old Strat Single coils that I will pop into the first one and I'm thinking of just one per guitar. This could change... I see most guys like to use a neck pickup on them but have seen ones with both neck and bridge. I have also seen setups and wiring diagrams with Piezo and single coils. So many many options it is confusing at times.
Will keep you posted on how things go.
          Hey Twister!
Mantech (in Joburg, anyway) don't have a minimum order quantity, and you can buy over the counter but the queues are generally long- it's easier to buy online/phone through an order and then go in to collect. The piezo disc buzzer they sell works great for a CBG pickup- I used one in the 2 string bass I built. You really need a preamp/buffer if you;re using piezos though, so a cheap strat pup is probably the easiest option.
Can you post some pics of the cigar box guitars please? I may be interested
Stoff as soon as it's done my friend 8) still a way to go.
