Aria Pro II PE 120 1976/1977/ Washburn Lyon series

Hey guys My bro in law is currently selling his 1976/1977 Aria Pro II custom guitar, the vine fretboard type, it has some scratches and dents to it as this is a 40 year old guitar made in Japan, unfortunately i do not have a pic as yet, selling for about R 1000.00. Is this a good buy or not He also has an Olympic White Lyon strat guitar with the maple neck and black headstock for sale at R 700.00 are these guitars any good i have attached pics from the internet just to compare.

Those Aria's were good stuff. The washburn you could use as a project guitar if it is no good!

I'm quite interested - the Pro II's had some great models.

What area (are you prepared to post to Cpt at my expense?) and are there some more pics of the ProII?

i have booked the Aria already i just wanted to know if these guitars are any good before i confirm the purchase

i will post some pics of the Aria tomorrow. i dont see any serial number on the guitar but its a PE 120 model that was made in Japan, it does have alot of dent and scratches but its a solid guitar, not sure about the sound quality of the pick ups.

Yes, the Pro II stuff was Aria's quality range. If it's made at the Matsumoku factory (Japan) it's is likely to be good if not to badly abused. Even the abused ones were still good!

Back in 1992, before I got my first Strat, I had a Washburn Lyon. Did many gigs with it and it never gave me a y grief. With the humbucker I the back it covers all the bases just fine.
Of course, it is a low-budget axe, but I have nothing nasty to say about it. For R700 just buy it, take it for a set-up and off you go.
