I had the idea of building an electronic drum kit from an old acoustic drum kit a while back. I procured a dodgey drumkit for R600. It has sat in my garage for at least 8 months now... lol.
Recently I picked up the guitar again and started recording a cover of a song.
I have a bass guitar, electric guitar and cheap ass mic. I need drums... So I started working on the electronic drum kit idead again.
Pulled out the Arduino nano and hooked it up to the pc. Soldered a piezo sensor onto some connectors. Wired that sucker to the Arduino.
Fired up loopmidi (to create a fake local midi port). Used hairless midi to convert the serial signals from the Arduino.
The video shows Reaper (audio recording software)...
BANG... the beginnings of a homebrew electronic drum kit!
