Albion TCT 35 Combo - Anybody biased this amp?
Sunnys
I have an Albion TCT35 combo amp I bought used, but it sounds like the bias is set too high because the clean channel breaks up way too early - can't get a decent clean sound at any volume. The drive channel sounds fine at any volume. Anyone had this issue? I'm thinking it is because new tubes were put in (6L6's) and the bias set too high? I've heard Albion amps should have a bias setting around "40", Any ideas out there?
Thanks,
Sunny

hey man did you ever figure out how to bias this amp?

Is the breakup sound as you would expect from the drive channel, or is it intermittent and 'dirty'?
Since the drive channel sounds okay, the power tubes are okay. Preamp tubes are usually auto-bias so don't worry about bias. It's most likely a bad tube socket or a microphonic tube, easily fixable. Search this forum for those things and you'll come right ?
