know/thought y'all would find this new pickup announced over at guitar player an interesting read. would be an interesting thing to explore its tonal possibilities, if any.

Looks interesting.
A ferw other people have looked at something similar:

The split coil precision pickup hints at this idea, of splitting the lpow and high strings and treating them differently
Ubertar make single-string and bass-string only pickups.
A little thunder makes a E and A string pickup with an octave down processor built in to the pickup casing.
