apps you're using in 2016

hi guys, hey

*far as i know there is not another post going regarding this

something i've been thinking about, is to get a post going on what smartphone/ipad/tablet app's any of us are using when it comes to playing geetar in 2016.

as far as things go for myself at the mo, i use 'guitar tuna' well, for tuning, as well as the built in chord library. have been thinking of also downloading the ultimate guitar one. what are any of you guys making use of?

I use Riffr which seems to have all the ultimate guitar tabs but for free. I also use jamup with my irig and headphones for very decent mobile tones. I also use guitar tuna, it's a great app.

I only use FreequenSee because I like to see how different things have different frequencies. And Slick Metronome to get the idea of a songs speed.

On Android,
I use Waves as a tuner- It gives tuning in notes and also Hz, which is useful to help the sound guy find a feedback frequency so he can dial in a notch filter.

Other than that, our church uses Planning Centre to manage volunteers and music, they have some useful apps for managing those.

I use:
* 'Guitar scale exercises'
Nice app for learning / practicing scales. you select the Key, hand speed, instrument (bass or guitar), and root and it pops out unique and random scales for you to practice

*Guitar Songs
For songs, chords and tabs. The list is HUGE and all available offline. Built in Chord charts and you can add to the database of songs.

*Pitchlab - for tuning. not my fav, but it does the job

* Guitar Jamtracks (Ninebuzz Software) Pick a key, pick a genre (blues, rock, metal etc), and jam along. Give you basic scale patterns in major and minor, while it plays a background jam track. Very nice for beginners, but limited to the 'same' jam tracks over and over.

Will have to check out the apps you mentioned!

i see this topic is a bit dormant. but i have one more to add, and it's guitar toolkit, by agile partners. standard, it's free, but you can 'upgrade' for a fee, which removes ads and gives access to chord sheet editing and sharing, drum pattern (metronome) editing and sharing, and custom instruments (handy for tuning).

otherwise, you get standard tunings for 6, 7, 12, bass, 5-string, 6-string bass, banjo, mandolin, uke, plus custom tunings, plus a whole whack of common alternative tunings for 6-string. you get a virtual fretboard to fiddle with. standard metronome, in the form of a drum machine. it's a really good little pocket rocket for guitarists.

i can't believe these are the only really useful guitarist-friendly apps out there. anyone else have any else?
