Ply sheets

Hey guys,

Was just in the wondering, since you're all such a useful bunch, does anybody know where one could find ply sheets in SA? I'm looking for 1-3mm sheets for a project. Pretty much any wood will do, but I guess I'm most likely to find pine. Maple would be the winner.

This will be used for various projects I have in mind including guitars, amp cabs and skateboards.

Hope someone has a lead!

Maybe a bit expensive but try marine stores and go for marine ply. as a minimum WBP type. Much denser, better quality and much more suitable for bending, Cajon tapa's etc.

Wizard got some nice ply, which be was using for skateboards (Cape Town). Perhaps pm him for more details? Lapdawg also makes cabs and he must have a local source too.

I did help make some benches recent - found some 16mm pine ply (2.4 X 1.2) at 400/sheet. But it was very rough finish - fine for what I needed

3mm for a skateboard? My board is around 6mm...

I'm looking for the individual sheets of veneer, or otherwise very thin sheets to laminate together, so that I can shape them.

Final thickness will be about 9-18mm in most of my applications.

So far I've found some great rarewood 3 mm ply at Board Master.

Individual veneer sheets would win though.

I found some really thin (1 mm) veneer of various woods, not sure what else they do
