Blackstar Amps

Anyone hear have a Blackstar amp? I heard one yesterday and was very impressed. It was the HT-5 model.
It’s a “innovative 5 Watt valve amplifier”, and it had plenty of grunt. Anyone else’s opinion on the make ?

i have tried a few of the valve pedals and they are very awesome , actually seriously thinking about getting one

Cool. i didn't hear the pedals in action. I will have to check them out. What type of pedal- Distortion, overdrive ?

Hi guys, Blackstar is a British company formed by guys that were former Marshall employees. The Blackstar amp range caused a BIG stir when they were released in England last year. The Gutarist magazine reviewed the models as they were released and gave the following rating as I can remember:
Blackstar 15 WATT combo - Guitarist choice award
Blackstar 30 WATT combo - Guitarist Gold Award!!
50 Watt head - Guitarist Choice award
HT-5 model - Guitarist Choice award.

Apparently the list of endorsees are growing by the minute so they should be fairly good then.
I didn't know that they were available in SA. Thanks JK. I will have to check them out soon.

I saw the 5 Watt HT-5 at MusicBoyz in Pretoria this morning, going for a floor price of about R6500. So probably about R5000 if you ask nicely.
