Hi Everyone
I'm not sure why it took me so long to get on here, but I eventually made it.
Originally form Bloemfontein, I made my way to the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town after studying guitar in the UK at the Academy Of Contemporary Music.
I settled in Cape Town at the end of 2005 and started working as a full-time musician, doing mostly session work for a few studios and some work for places like the Artscape Theater as well as trying out some local bands. Teaching work started popping up and I've been doing that since 2006, starting with private lessons. I now also teach at Fairmont and Stellenberg High Schools. Still preferring the studio, I do do a lot of compositions for advertising companies and learn a lot from it every day.
My two main guitars are a custom shop Strat and a Takamine natural series acoustic with a trusty Hotrod Deluxe amp with various other guitars and gear to get the job done. I try to keep my effects to a minimum, but like my toys like most Guitarists.
I've been playing since 1992 and couldn't really put the guitar down ever since. I try to spread knowledge about the guitar and it's music and have a website with resources and n YouTube channel with some tutorials that I might post after reading the forum rules a bit more thoroughly.
If there is anything you feel I can bring to this forum, or community, please shout.
