Just for info guys ....
Upon rewiring a shoddy job on a USA Highway 1 Strat, I came upon an interesting ex factory faux-pas.
This strat had the Greasebucket tone mods, which looks like this ..
Before wiring the mods back into place, I thought I should just check the components were still ok. Checked the caps, .....fine.
Checked for the 4.7k across the resistors ....... "0" .... ?
Opened up the heatshrink over the resistor . .. and ...
the resistor had been soldered onto the leg of the cap, but that was it .... the resistor as is, would just be bypassed as there is a closed circuit around it ???
Anyway, snipped the offending bits off (as should have been done at the factory) and completed the re-wiring 8)
Shot ......
