Ryan here - wanting to introduce himself and his gear! (and his puppies)
ryanblumenow
Hi all! Been lurking around for a little while and thought I'd introduce myself - also had a few topics I wanted to post and also reply to so it was about time! I'm primarily a drummer but recently (ish) picked up both bass and guitar, mostly thanks to Rocksmith 2014, Yousician, and Bandfuse. All excellent. I'm thinking of doing a blog-ish posting about my learning journey using these materials, which may build into my PhD, which is in economics, looking at how people learn complex skills (like musical instruments). If anyone would be interested in following such a learning journey, and maybe get notice of some of the learning resources I use, techniques I use to learn things, and how the whole journey shapes up I can fast-track this? Let me know :) I also wanted to give a flavour of my babies - of both the furry and musical type. Pics below! :)

Welcome Ryan!
Nogal an impressive collection of axes and banging toys for a recently-ish muso ?
Enjoy your stay. Psst you have one serious friend, called Bubbalute who will tell you Bass and drums are music, the rest is just colour.
BTW lovely dogs

Thanks Stoffeltoo!
Those puppies are my babies - so sweet.
Thanks a lot for the compliments ? I did have to pass through my wife at each stage to get my instrument collection - the latest being a 1982 MIJ neckthrough Ibanez Musician bass. I've been playing drums for years and although picked up guitar and bass reasonably recently I feel I am really making progress. I think having gear you absolutely love makes it easier to pick up and practice, but I also am something of a gear hog ? I kitted out my entire studio almost entirely (barring a few things) from gumtree...
I started out with one electronic drumkit, and now have a collection of instruments (almost all of which I play regularly) that I really love. Not nearly as much as my puppies though - it does give us time together though when they sit with me while I play!

Welcome and nice... Everything! ???

Sweet room of gear!
Awesome audience! ?
ryanblumenow
Thanks Norio! I definitely love having them as my audience!
I'm not sure they dig the harmonica, but they seem to be fine with my guitar and bass playing, which I think says something ? And they have a tendency to come say hello when I'm on my drum throne...
