I wrote a solo!

So I have been experimenting with new scales and some appregio/sweep patterns and I stumbled upon this while playing a little solo bit and I think it sounds really cool. Just wanted to share and see what everyone thinks. It feels like it has a beginning and an end, unlike 99% of anything else I have tried in the past.

I volunteer to be the asshole (surprise, surprise)

I like it melodically, but rhythmically it rapidly gets very samey. I kind of expected it to change-up a bit, but it just carries on mostly in quarter notes.

Thanks for giving it a listen. Im glad you like the melodic bit, thats what I never seem to get right, now that I have been following some new scales and such it 'feels' a lot better if that makes sense. As for the rythym I kinda went ahead and copy pasted the same sample for the drums and while I was playing I kinda latched onto it. My sweeping technique is not very developed so I think that is letting me down here.

But in all seriousness I'd rather someone tell me what they think of something I make than be placated because people are being polite. I don't often share stuff but other than the compos and I felt like 'putting it out there' on this instance.

Back to the woodshed I go ?

Cool. Just to clarify, I meant that rhythmically the guitar is samey. No issue with the drum track. Like, you wouldn't normally expect to have every note on the beat for such a protracted stretch. You know, da da da da. As opposed to say: da da diddly daaah ?

A little constructive criticism: melodically it is fine, but I agree with singemonkey in that it is a bit too unvarying, rhythmically. I will ad, however, that it lacks a bit of personality. It's very robotic. Maybe you were going for that, I don't know, but I think it could do with a bit more flare, if you know what I mean?

Also, eish...haven't posted anything on this site in a long time. Might as well post a few of my own clips for review sometime soon!
