Love 'em. But it's horses for courses. If you want the conventional jangly/strummy folk sound, then they'll sound dead and dreadful. I like them for acoustic guitars that play single-string stuff (especially small-bodied ones). They give you a lot of definition. Maybe not at much as Argentines, but they're a little gentler on the finger than Argentines (and I'm not even sure if argies are available in SA). Great for jazz, for the more defined blues styles—awful for streamy folk.
