Somebody on another forum mentioned the other day that the sound on a acoustic is generated between the saddle and the nut (open strings) or the fret. His argument was that if the bridge pins makes a difference in sound, one could argue that the machine heads does as well?
Wondered what the forumites think of this statement...?

If the mass of the bridge changes (eg. with heavier pins), I can see how that would change tone.
And I know for sure that tuning pegs CAN change an instrument's response by changing the resonant frequency of the neck.
So he's right, just not in the way he thought ?
