Your views on Positive Grid's BIAS amp modeler
schizo
Hey guys, would like to get someone's take on Positive grid BIAS (someone who bought the full desktop version).
I downloaded the trail version, and was super impressed with the sound quality.....actually blown away by it. The bad part is that the trail version cuts out every few seconds, and the longer you have it the shorter the interval becomes >☹
Sound on sound I cant think of anything else that beats it except axe fx (but for the price/sound quality increase i would rather buy Bias).
So yeah your take on it, and the amp match function (looks pretty cool)
(Demo I found by Mark Holcomb which sounds pretty good)
Oh and here is a vid comparing Axe FX vs Bias

It's excellent. i have it on my ipad, the problem being that i have an ipad 2 and it cant handle the heavy cpu usage of the app so i get crackles and pops if I have an effect heavy patch.
In terms of amp modelling, I think S-gear 2 is leading the pack. Bias is a great all round product which I would purchase over amplitube and guitar rig any day.

Just downloaded Bias desktop last night, don't know if it's the demo or a complimentary version, only played on it for about a minute but it sounded outstanding! Cutting out every few seconds would just ruin my day though.. ☹
I've been using Bias on iPad for a while, hands down the best software based amp simulator. I've found a work-around though for CPU intensity problems: If you have Jam Up make sure you rather import your Bias amp into Jam Up and then close Bias (and all other apps). That seems to lower the load on the CPU a lot.
I must still check out S-gear though.

Havnt heard of S-gear 2 yet, will def check that out as well....
Compared to the real amp (Peavey 6505+) Bias is pretty spot on.
Does anyone know if Cubase 5 runs 64 or 32 bit? Struggling to install 64bit plug ins (doesnt show in the list when i update plugins path)

I downloaded the free version of jamup for my iPhone today after reading this thread. I got an irig a while ago that I tried with amplitude but the tone just seemed vague and buzzy and harsh.
I must say jamup's tones are really impressive compared to amplitude and even guitarrig on my PC. And I also like the fact that I can use it easily with songs on my iPhone to noodle and practice. Very happy I encountered this thread today!

Plus 1 to that sir ?
Here is a demo of the haunted smhores and Petrucci presets you download for free off the cloud, no editing just added drums and presets panned left and right (adjusted levels a bit) no bass.
