The earlier versions I used some reverb, phaser and wah. I couldn't tell you their exact settings. I just used the default stuff on my computer.
Alternative Idea #2 is all electronic. I used a plugin called Sakura for its Alaska string setting which is kind of like a sitar, I think, and a "perc" called Kalim for that somewhat marimba sounding thing. Plus tons of reverb.
