Ha yeah it seem quieter than I remember... In need of some provocative threads.
Yeah. It's time to post the "Van Halen is rubbish," thread. ?
Yeah man divorce honestly was the best thing to ever happen. It allowed me time to tour and make some great bad decisions. I honestly mean it when I say some great bad decisions.
Yeah bands I learnt are rarely about playing massive fests and living some rock n roll life. Playing in an national band thats tours involve being time efficient driving in a van for hours with guys you know the worst things about. Its about doing that 3 weeks running playing to crowds who often dont care about your band and if they do its only one song. Its also knowing how much whiskey and drugs are bad before a show and which girls are bad news and which ones probably have clean showers and hot water, which is generally the most important thing on tour, showers and laundry.
I just got back from a knoxville ........atlanta run and picked up another jazzmaster.
Making a bigger splash is hard to imagine how much work that would be, we recently had a massive amount of interest from a label in california called Sargent House. so that could boost things ahead.
Very cool for us to hear about. You know that no matter how dedicated, there's really not a big enough scene in SA to really do that stuff. What have you learned about promotion? Do you make most of your money at the door, or through merchandising?
