I've never learned a whole song from beginning to end. Just always got bored or something I guess. So I got Rocksmith to fix that... And it has BROKEN me!...

Nice! Yeah this is the most fun I've had playing guitar in a looooong time.

Yesterday I pretty much nailed the bass for "Pour Some Sugar On Me". (I'm VERY new to bass - don't judge me!)

And had a ton of fun trying to get the bass line right for "R U Mine?" (I'm nowhere close, right now.)

Honestly, I never even used to listen to the Arctic Monkeys but now I'm a fan.

This game has helped me realise something about myself...

I enjoy pretty much ANY song about 20x more if I'm playing along to it ?

So even some of the songs I find kinda boring are fun while I'm jamming to them.

Oh yeah for sure! I can see myself spending the same if not more on DLC.

I'm eyeing all the Godsmack and Jimi Hendrix. Definitely the 1 Eric Johnson tune and a bunch others.

Not to sound like a cheap-ass but this is probably the cheapest way to learn to play guitar and/or bass. It's also probably the most fun.

(I think the only thing more fun would be playing with a band. I have limited experience in that department so I can't comment.)

thanks all. yup, sounds like a winna for me then. have put in the birthday order - so jan 2016, maybe a new version will be out by then.

in between now and then, i have a few other things to attend to, so hopefully the family has enough time to save - and plan

Yeah!! Got my game two days ago, run it on my laptop with a cheap pickup for the acoustic. I am very happy with the entire set-up. The first song that I am giving a bash is Knocking on Heavens' door, I am puzzled that it is so hard to get the G chord in particular in time. Em, open strings, "single notes" no problem, just the G. Anybody found any similar issue with the game? Ps..my fingertips are not as tough as I thought ☹

Nope I haven't found that issue. Might just be your pickup isn't picking up all the notes correctly?

Try with a friend's guitar and see if it helps. If it does, then it's your pickup.

I was planning on buying today, but the 40% off seems valid for the entire sale period, so probably no risk in waiting hey?

I doubt they will make it go up. I've never seen that happen before.

The DLC is also on special. Pickup up the Hendrix and Iron Maiden packs (40% and 50% off). Now I really have no excuse any more.

This also means I can now install all the Zep tracks from that other website.
