I got a trio+ when i was overseas awhile back.
Fun to play around with.
Much better than the original trio.
Plenty of info on youtube etc,
You might get away playing live, busking(with a plug point somewhere) or as a one man solo acoustic guitar gig,
but i wouldn't record an album with it....
Perfect for a late night afterparty karaoke jam.
I'm into metal, and all its good for,for me, is as a Rolls Royce metronome.
It has a looper, and if all boss, digitech etc loopers are like this, I'm glad i never bothered to buy one.
It's no different to a looper on a mfx unit nowdays, with the exception of been able to save your loop, with limitations.
The only thing in its defence, is that it's a small compact unit, ready to use in 10 seconds compared to setting up everything else one uses nowdays to achieve the same result.
In my opinion, it is breakthrough technology though , and hope to see many improvements on things like these in the near future.
But at present, this unit has far too many limitations.
But damn !!! I would've been a rockstar with one these in the late 80s or 90s...
No excuse for youngsters not to become Yngwies in a few years nowdays.

bit of forum post necrodancing here..
i got the Trio pedal - the original, not the + version - back in 2015 and been very happy with it. im not into metal, so use it for more contemporary stuff etc, it really is a cool pedal to have around for a jam session, either alone of when a drummer or bassist is absent.
they did a firmware upgrade for the original that improved the base lines.
using that and my Boss Rc300 looper makes for a pretty decent jam session. and i reckon for any person starting out with guitar, these 2 pedals are a must have.
only con about the pedal is that damn mechanical footswitch, its difficult to get the stomp timing just right.. if i had the chance Id get that swapped out with an electrical footswitch.

oh, and just to add, it seems that the chord / key recognition technology is being used in the TC Helicons PlayAcoustic and PLayElectric voice and guitar effects pedals.. where the pedal recognizes the guitar chords and applies that to the voice harmonies.. also a very cool toy to have at your feet.
