I usually don't do New-xyz-day stuff as I never know if I'm going to keep the gear long enough justify the post - but I think this one qualifies...

Bought it 10 years ago (new) as a TD8 module w/TD6 pads&frame. Over the years it's earnt the franken-kit name by :
  • upgraded to the TD9 frame (imho, best frame they make)
  • Added a CY-12H hihat (from a TD12 kit - soo much better than a stock pad)
  • Someone made me a offer I couldn't refuse on the TD8 module, so I ran it on a TD3 module for 18mths (yuck, but it worked)
  • Yesterday I got a another offer I couldn't refuse and I upgraded to a TD12 module - which just blew my mind.
I'm such a fan of the upgradability of Rolands V-drum series - Eventually I'd dig to upgrade all the toms to mesh & get the TD20 's "real" hihat, but for now I'm happier than a pig in...!

It all started 12 years ago with a loan of a TD5...(that delay patch is still killer on the TD5).

Thanks Wizzardly-one - you should know, you were the first person to give it a run in it's current guise! ?
