DI Box for bass

Hi,

Im looking to get myself a bass for my home recordings. Can anyone recommend an affordable DI for the Bass? I reckoned getting a DI instead of a bass amp for now would be good enough.

The only bass DI worth getting IMO is the Tech 21 Sansamp Bass Driver.

There is a free VST emulation of that DI made by TSE Audio (it's fantastic, and some say as good as the genuine article).

I think the general trend among a lot of the mixing and recording engineers I follow on youtube etc is to record all bass DI instead of mic'ing up an amp and cab.

The MXR Bass D.I is pretty good, I've had first hand experience with that.

If you're just wanting to record a clean d.i signal then your interface should be good enough, what interface do you have?

I use the Yamaha MW12 interface\mixer. I'll take it straight through the interface and slap on a few plugins.
