Complicated one maybe, you could place a push pull switches on both tone and vol controls giving you 4 switches with a possible 9 (8+1) combinations including the pickup selector , 2 are used for splitting and the other 2 are used for the "blower" (Vol and tone bypass) circuit.
What makes it a bit more complicated on a LP is that the pickup selector sits after the tone and Vol unlike a Strat, SO in essence each pickup is a circuit on its own and only brought together via the selector switch ala neck, bridge and Neck +Bridge

By the way Jim's wiring was more about phase switching.... Too many options in my books for stage could be relevant for Studio work
