This is a story about my obsession with a certain Super-Strat.
I acquired my very first Cort G290 on the 18th of January 2014.
At first I thought the purple quilted maple top was hideous but it actually kind of grew on me. I was blown away by not only the quality of the parts/features but how well it was built. I immediately fell in-love with this beast.
So I went on a "quest" to find this "Purple-Devil" 2 sisters. I sat on local classifieds sites for months on end and there was nothing. I came to the conclusion that I was never going to get another one. Then I got a message on a very well known social-networking site that begins with an "F" from a guy by the name of Neil. He told me he had one in a stunning finish called "Antique Violin Burst". So I told him I'll take it immediately. He sent it down from Joburg to The Mother City for me. I got it a few days later and I was so excited. What a stunning guitar!
To complete the pack I knew I had to have a third one. So the searching continued...
I got a phone call from a friend in Robertson and he said he had one in a case lying in his studio. He said he never used it. So I went to go see the guitar and it was in this weird finish called "Faded Trans Black". To be honest I took one look at the guitar and I thought it looked like some kind of reptile...almost like a crocodile or an alligator. But then I plugged it in and whoah it was sweet sounding. So once again I had to have it! The final guitar was added to my collection and it had to be an "Ugly-Duckling".
I have never had any problems with any of these guitars and I really recommend the higher end, older, MIK Cort's.
