Hi all

I'm deciding to try my hand at a 70's telecaster deluxe build. Looking to make it just like this TMG:
https://reverb-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/a_exif,c_limit,fl_progressive,h_620,q_85,w_620/v1398960077/ltbxic3hkphd59wg4y44.jpg

Following specs:
Gretsch White Falcon pickups - lots available on eBay
TP-3640 bigsby
Not sure about the wood yet
Seafoam blue, transparent so you can see the grain
Pearl pickguard

There are obviously so many places to get parts and tools in the US but I've got no experience in this stuff. My brother has a CNC machine so the cutting won't be a problem.

For the people experienced in builds, where should I look to get the parts, especially the wood? I want to do a solid job of this and am willing to spend a fair amount on it. What advise would you give me for this?

Thanks all! Super amped!
    Southern suburbs Cape Town...
That Tele looks absolutely cracking! I will definitely be watching this thread! As far as the parts go, I can't recommend anywhere local as I've just never tried local. I have had great success with StewMac though, the import fee's weren't unreasonable at all. Also to save you some time, if you were considering it, GFS (Guitar Fetish) has stopped shipping to South Africa, according to their customer service as of last night. In any case good luck with the build! ?
Do check out Rarewoods as they seem to have quite a selection of fancy woods in their warehouse (as per their website)
I haven't had a chance to use them but I've heard good things.
Parts you'll probably have to get from overseas. The local prices on some things are just ridiculous. You'd be better off paying the U.S. Price and shipping.... You could try the gear junkie and some other music stores for some 2nd hand parts though.

@josh, any idea why GFS have stopped shipping to SA?

I asked them the other day (had my eye on a $30 unfretted bass neck that would be great fora fretless I want to build) and they said this:
          "Peter -

Thank you for your email, we regret any inconvenience, at this time Guitarfetish is unable to ship to South Africa, we appreciate your interest and support.

Please reply to this email with your response / information or if you have further questions.
