howdy
i have oodles of lyrics lying around. i have hundreds of musical noodles in my head. some of them are guitar-based, some are keyboard/piano-based, you get the idea.
i don't really have a specific area of focus, although if pushed to say this or that, i'd probably name 'folkish indie folk-rock' as where i am musically. i also love blues, basically anywhere i can really express myself. (take a listen to my entry in the 'woodstock' monthly competition for an idea of the type of stuff i do. some time early this year? late last year? dunno.) i'm not a guitar whizz. so don't come expecting one! ?
so what i'm looking for is a sounding board. someone to meet with, share some ideas, bounce lyrics and musical ideas off, and hopefully grow together musically. i don't expect to write hit after hit. i don't expect to find the right person on the first 'date', either. if anything, i expect finding the right person to take some time, and be quite a process. what i do expect is a mutually-beneficial musical relationship, for however long it lasts.
initially, i'd want to meet once a week, or once every second week, take a look at each other's material, swap ideas, go away and work on one or two songs/thoughts, and see what develops, if anything does.
i live in sandton, jhb, and i have some space to play at relatively modest volumes. (we'd be upstairs and the kids sleep at the other end of the house, in other words.)
