Hi All,
I am considering purchasing the RC-300 Looper pedal from Boss however a little daunted on all the cabling connections going on here.
I currently have a Marshall JVM410C paired with a Boss GT-100 using the 4 cable method through the amp and pedal's FX Loop. I don't use the amp simulation part of the GT-100 as I really prefer my amp's tone. I primarily use the GT-100 to create a simulated bass-guitar tone and some backing delay/chorus effects.
I have been enjoying playing with the looper function on the GT-100 however somewhat outgrown it and I am now planning to buy the RC-300 pedal to add to this (to me) complicated mix of things.
My question (before I go spend R 7k) is this - Would I be able to connect this into my current setup and continue as I have been without any change but using the looping functions on the RC-300 instead of the GT-100? And how would I go about doing this?
Essentially I would like to be able to select a patch from the GT-100 for some chords, change the patch to bass and put that down, then switch to something else for lead melody and play over that for example, all along with the RC-300's built-in drum loops.
Something like
this here, so somehow the different FX must sound still through the power amp part of the amp (I sincerely hope that makes sense)
Incidentally (before some suggest another pedal) the reason I am buying the RC-300 (even though it is overkill like killing an ant with a nuke for what I do and where I am) is because I want the functionality that it offers (rythms, 3 tracks, 2 pedals each, midi sync etc) and don't want to sell and upgrade again later.
Thank you kindly for helping out - glad I found GFSA
