Rewiring a Les Paul style

My guitar is currently wired ala Les Paul - ie 2 humbuckers selected via 3-way toggle switch, each pup with its own vol and tone control. All-in-all, one switch and four pots to keep adjusting. I find the arrangement altogether too fiddly.

What I want is one master vol control and one master tone control, and then a "blend" knob to vary the input from each pickup.

I'll find another use for the switch and 4th pot, maybe phase, etc

Will this wiring arrangement work?

It looks fine. i installed a blend on my strat... but im not sure if its a bit overkill on a humbucker? i mean you already have a 3 way switch.

There is no switch in this schematic and OP actually said he would find another use.

It looks okay, I would just be worried that at center blend both pups see a lot of resistance - the rest of your setup might not like this depending on pedals and amps. If you tend to play with the volume rolled back then you'll be fine. There is also no reason not to try since soldering is an easily reversed mod.

I'm trying to make it simpler! Set the blend to what sounds good, then have one volume control... rather than a vol control for each pickup which you have to adjust to give both the blend and the overall volume.

I guess I'll have to do some sums and then try a some different pot values till it sounds right.
