Charlie4 I like where this thread is heading. I definitely have some homework to do. ? Lots of quality musicians yo go check out.
Charlie4 Every now and again I check EMG's YouTube page. Every now and again I see something interesting. This piqued my interest: Regarding her style I love using legato-style slides as well.
StefStoep I know they have been mentioned but Susan Tedeschi and Beth Hart are two of my favorites! Two other ladies from when I was at varsity Karma Ann Swanepoel (Henry Ate) and Jewel.
joealien22 +1 to Regina Spektor she is amazing. Gives me goosebumps. Some others who haven't been mentioned yet: Ani Difranco: Great guitarist and on of my all-time favourite lyricists Gemma Ray: She is just so cool. Other favourites are KT Tunstell, Khaki King, Brody Dalle, Suzanne Vega and of course Alanis Moressette.
NorioDS Can't believe Halestorm hasn't been mentioned. Love the way she sings and the sound of the band... =
Coolcat Coming in rather late on this thread, 8 months late to be precise :-[ Different genre to what has already been posted however, this lady - Liona Boyd - can play the guitar; =
