True. Buuut; when it feels better, you tend to play more comfortably and really get into what you're playing (well for me it's like that anyway). And I reckon the crowd can pick up on that.
Also, you're never gonna get anywhere if you play a SS the way you'd play a valve amp. You can get dynamics and responsiveness from a SS, you just have to alter your style and the way you attack and lay into the strings. Valve amps have all that in spades. minimal effort is required to get those toanz. SS amps force you to try harder. Then when you get to a valve amp you sound like a geetar god 8)

Valve amps don't
give you dynamics. You gotta put 'em there yourself. With your style and the way you attack and lay into the stings... I know when I made the move from SS to valve it highlighted how heavy-handed and one-dimensional my playing was. Still working on that. But yeah, I guess part of what you're saying is at the end of the day it's all about how you play, not what gear you play ?
