the first time i encountered this was watching a documentary billy connolly put together - a trip to the arctic. this is something innuit women do, apparently, and have done, apparently, for a good while.

it is, as you say, mindblowing.

Okay so it is rare difficult mindblowing and so forth. But is there anyone who actually likes the sound? I wouldn't want to be seen as Anna-Marias backing guitarist even if we were selling out night after night ?

I really like it, perhaps not used in the way that it is in the traditional roots it comes from but I really think it could be used to great effect on certain key notes in a passage, there's just something really pleasing to me about that register, it's sort of theremin-esque to me ?

Here's a band called Goatika that features the wonderful Mr Tony Levin and some throat singers, it's a sort of cross between world music and electronica, I don't know if you'll like it but I enjoy it in this context.

I also really like the Christian Bollman track I posted earlier, not necessarily something I listen to everyday but when in the mood for that vibe I find it really immersive ?
