Hi
I have a 1986 Yamaha RGX312, in HSS format.
Alder Body
Maple Neck
Bubinga Fretboard
Floyd Rose locking Tremelo
I typically play Rock/Classic Rock and I like the vintage tones
I was thinking of the following from Seymour Duncan
Bridge TB-1 '59 Trembucker
Middle - their tone wizard recommends an SSL 5. (Can I get them reverse wound for noise cancellation?)
Neck - Here I was thinking about an SL59-1 (Humbucker in Single coil package.) This would add the functionality of a humbucker changing the guitar to a HSH format, with the coil splitter allowing it to be used as a single coil.
At the moment I have a 5 way, with a single volume and tone, (tone with push/pull switch), both of these are 250K and the cap is a .47uF
I would look at replacing them with 500K, and keep the push/pull on the tone. This is a 2-channel switch, one currently being used to the single Humbucker at the bridge . I would use the other side for the front humbucker. What cap should I use?
My choices with the 5 way would be
1 - Bridge Humbucker
2 - Bridge/Middle
3 - Middle
4 - Middle/Neck
5 - Neck Humbucker

Bear in mind your single-coil sized humbuckers rarely split well. Even with full size 'buckers, the ones that split best have either been designed specifically to split (like Fralin's Unbucker) or are higher output models.
All SD single-coils are available RWRP. Whether the RWRP version is available locally or not is another matter.
Tone cap value .022 for HSS or HSH (and most SSS for my tastes). .047s are always too "blanket over the amp" for me.
