I'm hearing 8 string (at least 2 tracks), drums (EZ drummer?), bass, and some higher guitar in the background.

Thanks, pretty much correct, there are quad guitars (2 low doubles, 2 higher doubles playing a different part) and then 2 higher "lead" guitar parts (left and right each doing something slightly different. Then just bass guitar and midi drums.

I can't give any opinion on the structure or originality (I don't know the genre) but it is sounding rocking and I enjoyed it.
