Ibanez RGA32 neck strap hook

Hi Guys,

I don't have a neck hook for the above guitar as i bought the guitar 2nd hand like this.

Anyone know where can i get one and is it just like a screw on thingy or needs more work?

There is just a whole where the hook should actually be,

Possibly a good time to upgrade to some strap locks - the part (aka strap button?) I think you are missing is easy enough to find @ stores (if I'm guessing correctly w/o a pic) - but strap locks are always a good idea http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/Lock_Stock_and_Roll_Strap_Lock_Roundup. I've seen cheap ones (similar to the schallers) for around R150 in stores.

Nah.... Strap Locks are weaksauce. Use bread clips or duct tape 8)

If your RGA is the same generation as mine, it's a heavy beast (they made the following generation more slim-line, similar to the Prestige models). I put the Schallers on, 'cos I didn't feel like having this thing fall on my foot...

Whether you go for the locks or for the standard strap buttons, you may want to consider re-drilling the hole, it usually worries me if a guitar has a missing strap-button because the hole may have become too enlarged / stripped so it can't hold the screw in anymore. It's not a difficult process; wood glue, toothpick, let dry, drill the correct-sized hole, screw in the button...

I am unable to upload a pic as i only have the net connection at work and that has been blocked.

This is the white ibanez think it was manufactured in 2009 or 2011 in Indonesia.
I should go and do this on both strap buttons as i have noticed that my other button is also loose.

When u say toothpick what exactly do you mean by using a toothpick?

When your old strap button came out, it ripped some wood out with it. If you just screw a new one in, there will be nothing for it to hold on to. You need to put some wood in the hole for it to thread into, and a toothpick or matchstick is a convenient, small piece of wood that will add just enough body for the new screw to 'bite' into when you screw it in.

You can also use a wooden dowel - any hardware store will have a variety of sizes. I've seen guys use matchsticks in a pinch too, but that's pretty soft wood.
