What a surprise: London's history vs property developers and money. I'm sure we'll see a few earnest and sincere-sounding councellors and developers trying to convince all that the area's better off redeveloped, but they'll preserve the rich cultural history in an expanded music megastore in their new building.
On the plus side for Denmark street is the post-2000 English love of history (which verges on obsession with preservation) as well as the underdog, not to be underestimated.
