I fully agree with the singing tip. Satriani teaches it as well but that's not why I feel that way.

I agree because when I try and "sing" a melody over a song, it sounds good and I enjoy it. When I try and "noodle" over the same song, it sounds awful.

So it's a plan of mine to record myself "singing" over songs and then recreate the melodies I come up with on my guitar.

I've wanted to do that for MONTHS (maybe years now). Let's see if I ever get round to it ?

I like the one about being able to "play the part, equipment just gets in the way" #37 I think
The idea being-> if you can play it equipment can enhance it but if you can't play it equipment will not enhance it
