Anyone seen something similar to this locally? Or can make me up a couple (or four - if they are cheap enough)?

Basically a passive belt clip bodypack for hardwired in-ear monitors. Locking Neutrik socket on the bottom and a 3.5mm socket on the top (I don't really need even the volume control as I sit right next to the headphone amp). Metal shell and spring steel belt clip. Main thing is to relieve stress on the in-ear's cable from the extension cable.
Wow thats a great product. I would also be interested in it.

      +1
        Cool lil device.

At church we use in ears with a cable. We just take the cable loop it through a belt loop on our pants or put it through our guitar strap (velcro on the guitar strap works really well too, just loop it through). Not as nifty as the bodypack, but its free and available ?
Well, if enough people are interested, I'll take a look at making up a batch myself. Or approaching the manufacturer directly - strength in numbers. They are not overly expensive devices (+/- EUR41), but shipping kills purchasing them online (another EUR50) and importing. They also do a version with XLR input for those running off a board/snake rather than directly from a headphone amp.

Ooo - I just noticed that Thomann charge a flat rate of EUR50, regardless of if it's one unit or 10. So if anyone wants to go in on a group buy, that would make shipping a lot more reasonable. Although it's via UPS so that means any duties, VAT and clearance charges will be levied - no slipping a couple in via the post office.

BTW, for those interested in a battery operated bodypack headphone amp that runs off the aux returns, Behringer are coming out with a model shortly, the Powerplay P1. Street price is about $50 in the US and EUR 50 in Europe.

Fair enough - until you want to quickly unhook it to go to the loo, bar (latter not really a problem in churches as I understand it ?) or to the back of the room to listen to the mix.

I also want to add in a hardwired headset mic some time soon, which will further complicate things...

I consulted one of my favourite friends and found the following:

            http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELITE-CORE-EC-WBP-WIRED-BODY-PACK-FOR-HEADPHONE-EXTENSION-ProAudioShop-/191235742119?pt=US_Cables_Snakes_Interconnects&hash=item2c8689d9a7

or the "elite" with the volume control:

Ebay? You might have a problem... ?

Those look pretty cool. But I just found the Neutrik aluminium extrusion for D-style sockets they use. So if I can find a cheap enough source, I can make exactly the same thing locally (plus any other combo of adaptors).

Lol... P.s. I couldn't find the neutrik housing on ebay (during my intensive 5 min search) for cheaper that R207.33 + R233.33 shipping.

If you find the housings for cheap I might be interested in them too.

hold up... couldn't you just purchase regular square tubing and attach a belt clip to that and make a plan of some description for securing your desired jacks in either end?
